Our client is an established supplier to trade of building products that include fascias & soffits, trims & seals, guttering, drainage, decking, cladding, windows and much more!
They now have a great opportunity for an experienced Field Sales professional to join their South-West region as a Business Development Manager to develop sales for their trade counter network in South Wales and SW England.
**Cardiff / Newport / Bristol area is best suited to drive around the region, though other areas within the region may be considered**
Business Development Manager role:
* Working with the regional Manager to prioritise branch requirements and to plan and execute sales activity accordingly
* To prospect for new clients via networking, cold calling and local research to identify and develop potential supply opportunities
* Negotiate and win new contracts, communicating and liaising with the local branch manager who will oversee the delivery
* Build relationships with key active customers in the region, identifying additional supply opportunities to increase customer spend
* Ensure agreed sales, profitability and margin targets are achieved
* Develop strong and effective relationships with the branch network staff
Skills & Experience:
* Field sales experience gained within the building trade supply sector is essential
* Specific experience of building plastics is an advantage, however product training will be delivered
* Great people and communication skills, able to develop rapport with customers and work well with the branch delivery team
* The successful candidate will have strong motivation and drive to succeed, tenacity, commercial acumen, great negotiation skills and a customer centric approach
* Good IT skills – CRM, MS Excel, Office & Teams
* Valid driving licence
The Package:
* Basic of £35k + up to 50% of salary bonus
* Choice of a company car (Vauxhall Insignia) or a car allowance of £300 a month
* 24 days annual leave + statutory, pension, retail discounts
