We're currently recruiting for a highly reputable contractor based in the Merthyr Tydfil region who are looking to take on an Electrical Contracts Manager. The objective of the role is to generate a sustainable electrical engineering work bank in line with agreed budgets. Also, the contractor are looking for a competent candidate to successfully and safely deliver electrical engineering projects, control costs within agreed budgets.
The Key Accountabilities/tasks of the role will involve the following;
Comply with the contractor's Employee’s Handbook.
Take part in the appropriate training required to carry out the duties of the post and to enhance personal development.
Take responsibility for your own Health and Safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or not do).
Ensure that all staff under your control are fully aware of their requirements and responsibilities within their individual departments.
Ensure that all employees under your control are trained and competent to carry out their work to the required standard and in a safe manner.
Ensure that all employees under your control are aware of the relevant procedures to be followed and the specific actions to be taken, taking full account of the employee(s) individual capabilities.
Ensure that your areas of responsibility are frequently examined to identify any hazards and implement remedial actions as necessary.
Develop improved working practices and identify opportunities for improvement and ensuring timely corrective actions are taken
Generation of work bank in line with budget.
Contribute to the development and delivery of the annual business plan.
P&L management and control within agreed sphere.
Ensure all Health & Safety targets are achieved.
Accountability for all electricians and performance management of team.
Client liaison and tracking of work progress.
Assist with the implementing of company strategy.
Carry out all job planning to agreed timescales, (daily, weekly etc)
Ensure all material resources are procured and delivered to location.
Ensure all electrical works are completed on time and to specification
Ensure all workshop safety targets are achieved
Ensure job costing database is maintained to agreed standards
Internal liaison and tracking of work progress
Tracking task, project and job specific completion
Accountability for final checking and quality of finished goods
Ensure operations are carried out in accordance with the quality management system.
Ensure all training for reports is complete
Carrying out inspection regimes
Internal and external reporting
Leadership
Developing of Electrical Engineering team goals that are fully aligned with the company goals.
Lead and coach the team to recruit and retain high caliber staff coaching, guidance and support, to assist employees to reach their full potential through the Performance Management process.
Ensure the team delivers the highest standard of departmental and cross departmental teamwork and customer service
Ensure optimal deployment of resources to achieve business goals
Management Reporting
Assist in the preparation and delivery of an an accurate and detailed weekly Management Reporting Package to include
outstanding actions,
resource issues,
health & safety,
quality,
Work bank,
Completion schedules,
Site visits,
New enquiries

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Full Driving Licence
PC / IT literate
Strong health and safety awareness
Strong communication, interpersonal skills.
Be able to work remotely and under own initiative.
Ability to liaise with clients
Effective time management skills
Flexible and adaptable to change
Willingness to learn new tasks and activities
The Annual Pay will be £45,000 per year however is open to negotiation. Alongside this, you will receive other salary benefits as well.
