Electrical Craftsperson

Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for an Electrical Craftsperson to join the Electrical team at TATA Steel in Port Talbot. Working on a 40 hour a week day shift, this role pays £14.24 per hour and is on a rolling 12 month contract.

Purpose of Job

The jobholder must ensure the efficient execution of installation and corrective/preventive maintenance whilst adhering to both local and works procedures.

Working in Electrical Distribution, the jobholder will be involved in the provision of electrical services to a wide variety of areas: this includes High Voltage distribution at up to 33kV and all Low Voltage distribution and equipment outside of Manufacturing.


Adhere to local and works procedures in relation to both Safety and Environment, undertake Risk Assessments and contribute to the delivery of the local Health & Safety Plan.
Undertake projects and preventive/corrective maintenance on LV distribution systems.
Facilitate with the development of Apprentices.
Review maintenance procedures and amend /implement as necessary.
Run and maintain standby generators
Testing of the works earthing network.

Knowledge and Experience

The candidate will be a time served electrician in possession of formal qualifications (preferably HNC or equivalent)
Relevant manufacturing environment experience.
Good communications skills and an understanding of company procedures, good risk awareness when planning and undertaking tasks, and being able to challenge those who do not.
Knowledge of HV equipment is preferred but not essential.
