Location: Bristol, Cardiff or Exeter, this is an agile role where you will be based out of our office with home working available and some travel to other offices and sites

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects such as Local and Strategic Highways.

We are now recruiting for a Geotechnical Team Leader to join our Highways Design team in Bristol, Cardiff or Exeter to provide the main geotechnical focal point for South West Design Service Contract (SWDSC) and co-ordinating support from Kier Design Service (KDS) geotechnical resources.

Key Responsibilities

The Geotechnical Team Leader will provide guidance to Kier Engineering Manager, Design Managers & Team Leaders, Environment Manager and Structures Manager. Production of feasibility and design documentation for all geotechnical aspects of Task Orders issued by National Highways under the SWDSC, including design of foundations, slopes and retaining walls. Assist Programme Team with development of Target Cost Estimates, Early Warnings and Compensation Events plus monitoring and reporting of project program and costs. Managing and completing Technical Approval documentation and pro-actively liaising with Highways England Technical specialists and Project Managers. Line Management and supervision & development of junior members of staff.

What do we need from you?

Degree/HND in Civil Engineering with appropriate experience to be able to undertake the role
Proven project management of highway projects or tasks up to £5M and delivery to programme and budget in a safe environment
Strong technical skills and experience in a combination of key Geotechnical fields as set out above
Experience in developing, checking and authorising contract documents in accordance with relevant Highway contractsKier Benefits:
