This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join this leading manufacturing company in a role which will offer autonomy, progression and a real chance to make your mark. This is a hands on role and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all health, safety and environmental issues across the site, along with promoting a positive attitude and ensuring all HSE legislation and policies are adhered to.
Duties will include:
– Liaising with all departments on all matters concerning Health, Safety & Environmental issues
– Conduct risk assessments to detect and control hazards
– Reporting on and investigating any accidents & incidents and putting corrective actions in place
– Working alongside all departments and Managers to establish safe working practices and identify hazards
– Carrying out and assessing all H&S training
– Auditing
– To take responsibility for waste management activities across the site
– Be a member of the BRC team and be involved in ongoing projects
– Participating in Site meetings, preparing monthly reports covering all aspects of HSE and reporting back
The successful HSE Manager will have previously worked in a similar role within a manufacturing environment and have excellent people skills – the ability to communicate with people at all levels is essential. You will be NEBOSH qualified and have experience of working to ISO 14001 – previous experience of working to BRC standards would be ideal, but not essential. Experience of auditing is also essential.
