We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Apprentice to join our dedicated team based in Cardiff.
mirus is a not-for-profit charitable organisation, working in partnership with the people they support, their families and other partners, to deliver high quality, person-centred support services for people with a disability. We have been supporting people in Wales for over 35 years and currently support over 350 people in ten different local authority areas.
The role will be key in supporting with day-to-day IT queries and providing technical support to mirus colleagues; which will help underpin the IT Strategic plan.
The role is a developmental opportunity for a person looking to gain experience with all facets of IT, from typical End-user administration utilising Microsoft technologies to help support the mirus Service desk using ITIL methodologies
What will you be doing?
Log all Incidents and Changes into the mirus ICT ITSM (Vivantio).
Diagnose and resolve incidents forwarded to mirus
Ensure that all policies and processes are adhered to when performing the role.
Escalate urgent Incidents and Security Incidents to 3rd party support.
Inform users about the progress and completion of Incidents.
Place and track purchase orders for IT Hardware.
Ensure that asset changes are recorded in the asset register.
Ensure password resets are performed with security and confidentiality in mind.
Maintain the AD Organisational Unit structure, ensuring user and computer objects reside in correct Organisational Units, and maintaining user accounts / permission groups.
Act as a point of contact for Customers.
Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot mobile devices.
Install software packages when requested.
Ensure an excellent standard of communication.
Maintain confidentiality of all information.
Perform documented daily checks to ensure the continued availability of mirus systems.
Undertake training when requested.
Perform out-of-hours work when necessary.
Undertake any other duties related to the successful performance of the role as required.

The ideal candidate would be a driver who has the ability to drive to our Head Office in Cardiff and the flexibility of, on occasion, driving to other areas.

This is an Apprenticeship Vacancy you will be employed by mirus and undertake an Apprenticeship Programme, receiving support and guidance from an experienced Assessor to help you achieve IT Users qualification
