Nursery Assistant – Neath – £10.77 per hour – Full time ASAP

Hours – 37 hours per week

Start date – 25th April 2022

Requirements for the role include:

CACHE / TEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing / NVQ Level 3 (CCLD)
Relevant experience of working in a childcare environment
An awareness of child protection
Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (Teaching Personnel can assist with obtaining this)
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:

To assist the Senior Officer: Nursery, Nursery Officer/Deputy Nursery Officer on a day to day basis for the planning of activities and care of the children within the Day Nursery; recording and banking of Nursery fees, the efficient use of staff and resources and all pertinent and administrative duties for the financial operation of the Nursery; ensuring the day to day operation of the Nursery complies with legislation e.g. Children Act, Health and Safety Act, Environmental Health and C.I.W guidelines;
To report any safeguarding concerns to the Senior Officer: Nursery, Nursery Officer and Deputy Nursery Officer, such as signs of abuse;
To administer First Aid and respond to emergency situations as appropriate;
To administer medication as appropriate;
To assist the Senior Officer: Nursery, Nursery Officer/Deputy Nursery Officer in the organisation of activities to promote a healthy, safe and stimulating nursery environment;
To assist the Senior Officer: Nursery, Nursery Officer/Deputy Nursery Officer with the supervision and training of the students/trainees within the Nursery;
To provide a service of the highest quality to children and carers;
To assist the Senior Officer: Nursery, Nursery Officer/Deputy Nursery Officer with the assessment of children’s development and the planning and implementation of their care plans;
To complete the administration tasks and retain accurate records as required;
To adhere to all College Nursery policies and procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
