SEN Teaching Assistant

Full time role

Teaching Personnel are delighted to be recruiting for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for an SEN school in Bridgend which caters for pupils aged 3-19 across different classes. The successful candidate will be primarily supporting a Primary autism class, however, will also be expected to offer support for children with a range of other additional needs such as physical disabilities, challenging behaviours and speech and language needs. This position does include working with challenging behaviour.

Rate:  £83.85 per day

Full time: Monday to Friday

Working Hours: 08:30-15:30

Location: Bridgend

This job will require the successful candidate to possess the following skills:

Build strong relationships with the class teacher, other support staff and parents to provide the best possible support to the pupils.
Establish strong working relationships with pupils as a part of small groups or 1-2-1’s to help with their academic and social development.
Be a proactive and hard-working individual who can adapt to challenging situations.
Have a positive and engaging approach to providing support to children with special educational needs.
To uphold the schools 4 values on a day-to-day basis: Independence, Opportunity, Sustainability and Wellbeing, leading by example for the pupils.
Assist the class teacher in lesson planning and tailored lessons to meet the pupils needs.
You may be expected to do personal care.

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS
Register with education work force council.
Provide two previous employment references.
Complete safeguarding level 2 – free through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
