The Role:
Reporting directly to Engineering Supervisor/Engineering Manager, the Shift Engineer will be responsible for supporting all site Engineering and Maintenance requirements. Ensuring efficient production through maintenance of assets, assured technical capabilities and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
Supporting the Engineering Supervisor/Engineering Manager in achieving maximum effectiveness of machinery and equipment, by minimising downtime and supporting the effective operation of the PPM system, whilst striving for continual improvement in processes and procedures.
What will you be doing?
* Ability to demonstrate a high level of expertise in relation to planned and reactive maintenance.
* Complete required documentation and services reports as required.
* Any other ad-hoc duties as required by the Lead Hand/Engineering Supervisor/Engineering Manager
* Provide technical advice to problem solving and innovative solutions.
* Work in partnership with the Engineering Department to ensure that the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved for the needs of the business. This includes the provision and use of services on which the business depends (electricity, compressed air) and the environment.
What will you bring to the party?
* Demonstrate your multi- skilled engineering expertise through time served experience and/or qualifications.
* A time served engineer with BTEC Level 3 qualification is essential in mechanical or electrical engineering HNC or HND qualification in an Engineering discipline – desirable
* Good knowledge of technical Health & Safety requirements.
* Previous experience within a similar role and within a food manufacturing environment is desirable.
* HACCP level 3 – desirable
