Trainee Maintenance Engineer

£20,000 – £24,000

Monday – Friday / 08:00-17:00

A fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified electrician has became available for a great small works firm in Swansea. This role is ideal for someone who has recently qualified through an apprenticeship/via college to get good on the tools experience with electrical installation works and repairs across various industries.

Purpose of Role:

Reactive repairs to electrical breakdowns 
Installation of electrical systems
Taking part in large project works
Support senior engineers with various works
Improve and maintaining client relations
Support the overall business across various trades as and when needed.
Job Responsibilities:

Perform electrical works to the clients Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Assist the electrical maintenance engineer in replacing components where required.
Assist the electrical engineer in responding to breakdowns 
Assist the electrical engineer in achieving efficient solutions to problematic issues
Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner in line with our risk assessments, method statements and that all activities is completed in line with our HSEQ policies.
Ensure all equipment is well maintained, used correctly and safe to use, completing regular checks.
Assist the electrical engineer maintain van stock levels
Assist the business with other maintenance duties and requirements as and when required. For example, provide short term cover for other engineers when required.
Person Specification:

Experience working with electrical systems (desirable)
Electrical Qualification Level 3 or equivalent 
18th edition (desirable) 
Can demonstrate basic competence in Electrical and Mechanical applications.
Relevant or transferable skills and experience
Full UK driver’s license.

Highly self-reliant, motivated and enthusiastic.
Approachable, open and able to work as part of a team.
Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to quality and attention to detail

What's in it for you?

£1000 in company training

22 days annual leave, rising 1 day per year

1.5x/2x overtime rates
